Smudging
The purpose of smudging is to use smoke to carry negative energy out of the area. You can use sage, sweetgrass or incense.
Asperging
The use of liquid, the power of water, to purify the area. This is done by sprinkling consecrated water around the perimeter of the space.
Sweeping
Using a broom or besom, go around the perimeter of the space, sweeping negativity toward the doorway.
Salt
Use a bowl of sea salt, sprinkled across the area to cleanse and purify the area.
Fire
Light a candle and walk around the area with it.
